SKOPE service in Perth from one local technician
SKOPE is a New Zealand maker, and its glass door merchandisers and kitchen counters are a familiar sight in Perth cafes, pubs, bakeries and fuel stops. They are built for long hours, but a SKOPE fridge still depends on clean coils, working fans and sound door seals to stay cold. When any of those fail, you need someone on site quickly who understands commercial refrigeration rather than a general appliance repairer.
Sam Celesti has spent more than 20 years on commercial refrigeration and holds ARCtick licence AU55592. He repairs SKOPE equipment alongside every other major brand, so a mixed site gets one technician and one invoice. No job is handed to a subcontractor, and you get a fixed price before the repair starts.
SKOPE ranges on our service list

On the front of house side, Sam works on ActiveCore and EziCore uprights, the BackBar, Ascend and SpeedLane glass door fridges, and OpenDeck open front display fridges. In the kitchen, the ProSpec range covers storage uprights, underbench counters, prep fridges and freezers, while ReFlex fills the same roles with its own uprights, underbench cabinets and pizza and salad prep units. SKOPE also makes ActiveCore storage and display freezers, three of them set up as glass door ice cream freezers.
ActiveCore and EziCore fridges come in bottom mount and top mount versions, which tells you where the refrigeration system sits. That changes the service. A bottom mount condenser sits near the floor and collects dust, lint and mop water. A top mount condenser breathes the warmest air in the room and is easy to bury under boxes stacked on the roof of the cabinet. Either way, a clean, unobstructed coil is the cheapest repair there is.
Temperatures SKOPE units are built to hold
Most SKOPE fridges in the catalogue are specified to run between 1°C and 4°C, inside the 5°C limit for chilled food, and the storage freezers are set for -21°C to -18°C. The ice cream freezers run warmer, at -9°C to -12°C, so the product stays soft enough to scoop. When Sam arrives he compares the controller reading with a probe in the product, because a cabinet that reads 3°C on the display while the drinks sit at 7°C is not doing its job.
SKOPE also publishes energy use for many models. A one door ActiveCore BME600N-A, for example, is listed at 1.6 kWh a day. A unit with a choked condenser or a weak door seal runs its compressor far longer than that, and the extra hours show up on the power bill well before the fridge finally stops.
Common repair work on SKOPE fridges and freezers

We do not keep a list of SKOPE failure rates, and nobody honest can give you one. What we can say is that the same handful of parts account for most commercial fridge callouts of any brand: evaporator and condenser fan motors, door gaskets, hinges and closers, controllers and their probes, defrost heaters on freezers, and slow refrigerant leaks. Sam tests the cheap, likely causes first and only condemns a compressor once the rest has been ruled out.
- Warm cabinet, compressor running: check condenser, fans and door seals, then refrigerant charge.
- Frost building on the back wall: usually a door not closing, a split gasket or a defrost fault.
- Water on the floor: often a blocked drain line or a cracked drain tray.
- Controller alarms or odd readings: a failed probe is a common and inexpensive fix.
ITV and Irinox units supplied through SKOPE
The SKOPE catalogue includes ITV ice machines, such as the SPIKA, GALA and SILO ranges, and Irinox blast chillers and shock freezers, including MultiFresh, MyA and EasyFresh models. SKOPE distributes these, but they are made by ITV and Irinox. Sam services and repairs both. ITV machines get the full ice maker treatment, and our ice machine repairs page explains what that involves.
Regular SKOPE service saves callouts
Scheduled servicing is where most of the value lies. A visit every six months cleans the condenser, tests every fan, checks gaskets and hinges, confirms the controller against a reference probe and clears the drain. Venues with several SKOPE cabinets can fold them into our commercial refrigeration maintenance program alongside cool rooms and ice machines, with a short report after each visit.
Book SKOPE repairs with Sam
Call or send a quote request with the model code, which starts with letters such as SKB, SKT, BME or TME on ActiveCore units, and describe the fault. We call back within 30 minutes and run same-day callouts across Perth, 7 days. Rates are $75 plus GST to call out and $180 an hour plus GST, plus parts.
Our general commercial fridge repairs page covers other brands and cabinet types. If a SKOPE unit has reached the end of its life, Sam can quote a new one from the SKOPE refrigeration range in Perth and fit it on the same terms.
