Arcus equipment, installed and looked after by Sam
Arcus Australia is a refrigeration supplier based in the Perth suburb of Malaga, and most of what it sells is built by other companies. The pages here cover units from nine makers besides Arcus, together with a short list of Arcus's own fridges, freezers and displays. Sam Celesti runs Commercial Refrigeration Perth separately from Arcus. He can supply equipment from the Arcus range, fit it on your site and keep it serviced for the years that follow.
Sam has spent more than 20 years in commercial refrigeration and holds ARCtick licence AU55592. He takes callouts every day of the week, does the work himself instead of passing it to subcontractors, and fixes the price of a repair before he picks up a tool.
Five categories, each with its own page
The cards above lead to every model. Here is what each category holds:
- Fridges and freezers. 19 units: Arcus solid door and glass door uprights in one, two and three door sizes, as fridges or freezers, vaccine fridges from Arcus and Nuline, two Arcus mortuary cabinets and a Hussmann island freezer. Browse fridges and freezers from the Arcus range.
- Supermarket display cases. 33 cases, all but one made by Kaplanlar: multidecks, semi vertical cases, serve over deli counters, well islands and cake displays, plus that same Hussmann island freezer. Compare them on the supermarket display cases page.
- Blast chillers and freezers. 35 Friginox models, from a 15 kg cabinet up to roll-in units rated at 320 kg, with 21 of them built around a remote condensing unit. See the Friginox blast chillers.
- Cold food displays. 27 units: Woodson cabinets taking three to six 1/1 GN pans behind curved, straight, square or self serve glass, Cossiga counter, tower and floor standing displays, and one Arcus cold food display. Five of the Cossiga series are ambient rather than refrigerated. Look through the cold food displays.
- Ice machines and bins. 65 listings, all but two made by Scotsman or Follett: cube, nugget, chewblet and flake machines, storage bins, ice shuttles and ice and water dispensers, alongside an ITV cube head and an Arcus 450 kg ice dispenser. Find them under ice machines and bins. Ice-O-Matic machines, also available in Perth through local suppliers, have their own pages.
Where SKOPE, Bromic and Williams fit
Arcus also stocks SKOPE, Bromic and Williams. Those three brands are left off the Arcus pages on purpose, because each one already has a complete catalogue on this site and listing the same unit twice would only confuse things. Browse SKOPE refrigeration, Bromic refrigeration and Williams refrigeration on their own pages.
Why the cards look thin
Arcus product pages carry very few hard figures. The cards in each category show the maker, a capacity when the product name includes one and a size where Arcus lists it, and nothing has been filled in by guesswork. Follow "Full specs" on any card for the published feature list, or send Sam the model code and he will check dimensions, power, refrigerant and capacity against your site before you order.
Getting the choice right
Most trouble with new refrigeration traces back to where it goes rather than what it is. Before you settle on a model, think about:
- The route in. Measure doorways, corridors, lifts and stairs as well as the final position. Roll-in blast chillers and three door uprights are large, heavy pieces of equipment.
- Heat and airflow. Perth summers regularly top 40 °C. A condenser boxed in with no room to breathe works harder, costs more to run and fails sooner.
- Services on site. Ice machines need cold water and a drain, remote units need pipework and somewhere to put the condensing unit, and larger machines may need their own circuit.
- Your busiest day. Size for peak demand. A cabinet opened every few seconds during a rush needs more capacity to recover than one that stays shut.
Install day
Sam delivers the equipment, places and levels it, connects water, drains and pipework where the job calls for them, and runs everything down to temperature, checking the reading before he leaves. Need the old unit gone? Ask Sam, as he is licensed to recover the refrigerant it still holds. If you have your own installer, equipment can be sent by courier instead.
Servicing and repairs afterwards
Sam services and repairs equipment from the Arcus range whether or not he supplied it. Attendance is $75 + GST, labour is $180 + GST an hour, parts are extra, and the cost of the fix is agreed once the fault is found.
