Cool room repairs in Jandakot, done by one experienced tech
Jandakot sits about 17 km from the Perth CBD, between the Kwinana Freeway and Canning Vale, and much of its commercial activity is about storing and moving goods. Sam Celesti repairs cool rooms and freezer rooms for those businesses. He brings more than 20 years of commercial refrigeration experience, an ARCtick licence (AU55592) and parts knowledge for brands such as Bitzer, Danfoss, Carel, Tecumseh, Eidis and Cabero.
You talk to Sam from the first call. He will run through the symptoms with you free of charge, then give you a fixed quote once he has inspected the system. He works 7 days and puts failures that threaten stock first.
Busy doors at Jandakot Airport's warehouses
Jandakot Airport is a general aviation airport, but the land around its runways is also a large commercial estate. Warehouses, distribution centres, trade showrooms and food businesses have set up there for the freeway and Roe Highway access. Many of them hold chilled or frozen stock in walk-in cool rooms and freezer rooms that see constant movement: pallets in from suppliers in the morning, orders picked and loaded out through the afternoon.
That traffic is hard on refrigeration in specific ways:
- Iced evaporators. Every time a door opens, warm moist air comes in and freezes onto the coil. Too many openings and the defrost cycle falls behind, airflow drops and the room warms up.
- Damaged doors and seals. Pallet jacks and forklifts clip door frames and tear seals. On a freezer room, a failed door heater wire lets the door freeze shut or stop sealing.
- Hot loading docks. Docks facing the afternoon sun push heat straight into the room whenever the door is open, which adds to the load on the plant.
- Product loaded warm. Cool rooms are built to hold temperature, not to chill large loads of warm product quickly. Asking them to do both strains the compressor.
Strip curtains, fast acting doors, better defrost settings and a properly sized system all help. If your room keeps losing the battle, Sam can advise on changes or quote a new cool room or freezer room sized for how you actually use it.

Keeping stock safe until the repair
- Stop loading in. Hold new deliveries elsewhere if you can, and keep the door shut as much as possible.
- Check the basics: power to the condensing unit, the controller reading and whether the evaporator fans inside are turning. A coil that looks like a block of ice is useful information for Sam, so take a photo through the door if you can, and switch off any lights or heaters left running inside.
- Record temperatures and times for potentially hazardous food. It should be held at 5°C or colder. If it has spent under 2 hours warmer than that, it can be chilled again. Between 2 and 4 hours, it needs to be used straight away. Food out for 4 hours or longer must be thrown away.
Jandakot's business mix and what it keeps cold
Beyond the airport estate, Jandakot's commercial streets along Berrigan Drive hold light industrial units, food wholesalers, caterers and trade businesses. Next door, Canning Vale's food manufacturers and distributors share the same kind of refrigeration needs, and plenty of businesses run sites in both. Together they rely on:
- Freezer rooms for frozen food distribution and storage.
- Walk-in cool rooms for fresh produce, dairy and finished goods.
- Staff room and display fridges, covered by our commercial fridge repair service.
- Refrigerant leak repairs and regassing on systems under heavy duty.
