Five back bar models, three widths
Bromic's back bar range is small and simple. All five models are black, have glass doors with LED lighting inside, and stand 870 mm tall, so measure the clear height under your counter before you choose. The single door model holds 118 L and is 555 mm wide, enough for a small cafe or a function room bar. The two door models hold 190 L in 865 mm, and the three door models hold 307 L in 1,350 mm for a busier pub or restaurant bar.
Hinged or sliding doors
The two and three door models each come with hinged or sliding doors, and the choice depends on the walkway behind the bar. Hinged doors swing out 424 mm on the two door model and 444 mm on the three door, which can block a narrow bar while someone is restocking. Sliding doors need no swing room at all, and those models are also a little shallower at 520 mm deep against 543 mm. Hinged doors open the full width of each section, which makes loading cartons quicker. The single door model is hinged only, with a 553 mm swing.
Things to check behind the bar
Heat. Every model is listed for rooms up to 38°C. A bar can get warmer than people expect once glass washers, lights and a crowd are going, and a fridge built tightly into joinery has nowhere to shed its heat. If it is going into a cabinet, Sam will check there is a path for warm air before you build around it.
Running costs. The single door uses 1.44 kWh a day and carries 6 stars. The two door models use 2.6 kWh at 4 stars and the three door models 3.58 kWh at 3 stars. Per litre of space, the three door is the cheapest of the five to run, so one larger fridge usually beats two small ones.
Security and temperature. All five have lockable doors, which keeps stock secure after close. They hold +1°C to +10°C, cold enough for beer and soft drinks at the low end, with room to run warmer for wine.
Power and levelling. Each comes with a 10 A plug at the rear and stands on adjustable feet rather than castors. Plan the power point before the unit goes in, because it is not easy to pull out once the bar is stocked.
Installed by Sam
Sam quotes the fridge with delivery and fitting in Perth. At 58 kg to 90 kg these units are manageable, but getting one behind a working bar without marking the joinery still takes care. He sets the feet so the doors close and lock cleanly, and checks the plug and circuit, which on a bar is often shared with glass washers and ice machines. Then he runs it down and probes the temperature before he leaves. Ask Sam if your old bar fridge needs taking away. If you would rather fit it yourself, it can be sent by courier.
