Display, storage or gelato
Bromic's chest freezers divide by what sits on top. Ten display models have sliding glass lids so customers can see and reach the stock. Three storage models have a solid hinged lid and run colder. The gelato and ice cream display is a scooping cabinet with its own section below.
Display chest freezers
Each display length comes with a curved or a flat glass top. The curved tops stand 949 mm tall and run from 176 L to 555 L; the flat tops stand 892 mm tall and run from 191 L to 670 L. On the same footprint the flat top holds more, for example 401 L against 352 L on the 1,298 mm cabinet, while the curved top gives shoppers a clearer view from the aisle. All ten hold -22 to -12 °C and come with two to eight wire baskets depending on length, which suits ice cream tubs, frozen meals, bagged ice and impulse lines near the counter.
Stainless steel top storage freezers
For bulk stock out the back, the CF0300FTSS (296 L), CF0500FTSS (492 L) and CF0700FTSS (675 L) run as cold as -25 °C. The solid lid makes a real difference to running costs: Bromic lists the 492 L storage model at 2.085 kWh a day, against 3.76 kWh for the 491 L flat glass display model. With the lid up these units reach 1,620 mm, so do not tuck them under a low shelf.
Gelato and ice cream display
The GD0007S-NR is a chest-style scooping cabinet for seven tubs of 165 by 360 by 120 mm, under a canopy with sliding glass lids. It is 1,298 mm wide and 1,296 mm tall and holds -22 to -12 °C. It suits a cafe, kiosk or takeaway that wants to add scooped gelato or ice cream without building a full gelato counter. Like the rest of the range it sits on castors.
Before you buy
Room heat. Bromic rates all 14 models for rooms up to 35 °C (climate class 4L1). A freezer beside a sunny shopfront window or in a storeroom without air conditioning can pass that in a Perth summer, so pick a shaded spot with space behind for the condenser to shed heat.
Defrosting. All 14 use manual defrost. Frost builds on the inside walls over time, faster when the lid is opened often on humid days, and the cabinet has to be emptied and defrosted when it gets thick. Plan where the stock will go for a few hours.
Size and access. Lengths run from 719 mm to 2,055 mm, and the longest models weigh around 120 kg. Measure the doorways and corners on the way in as well as the final spot.
Running costs. GEMS star ratings run from 6 to 9 stars across the range. Compare the daily kWh figure on similar sizes: the 670 L flat glass model is listed at 3.57 kWh a day, less than the smaller 555 L curved model at 3.962 kWh.
Power. Every model comes with a standard 10 A plug. Give it a dedicated outlet, not a double adaptor shared with a drinks fridge.
Delivered, installed and serviced
Sam brings the freezer in, sets it level so the lids slide and seal properly, checks the clearances and lets it pull down to temperature before any stock goes in. Ask Sam if you want an old freezer taken away. Freezers can also travel by courier if you would rather unload and set up yourself.
After installation he looks after it too: condenser cleaning, lid seals and runners, the controller and any frost or temperature problems. Repairs carry a $75 + GST call-out fee and labour at $180 + GST an hour plus parts, priced as a fixed quote before work starts.
