Accessories

Three lengths, two glass shapes

Bromic's deli displays come in three lengths: 1,330 mm (351 L), 1,955 mm (527 L) and 2,580 mm (703 L). Each length is made with curved or square front glass, so there are six counters to choose from, all 1,290 mm tall and 1,086 mm deep. Curved glass gives a softer, traditional look. Square glass gives a clean upright line that suits a modern fit-out. Inside, the two shapes share the same specification: a -1 to +10 degrees C range, fan forced air, LED lighting, a digital controller and automatic defrost.

For a butcher, a deli or a cafe selling cold meats, cheeses and salads, size the counter by how many trays you want on show at the busiest time of day. A 1,330 mm counter suits a cafe with a small deli offer, and a 2,580 mm counter suits a dedicated deli or a supermarket service counter. Two shorter counters side by side give you two controllers, for example one set for meats and one for salads.

Built for the staff side as well as the customer side

The front glass on all six counters lifts on a hydraulic system, so cleaning the inside of the glass and the display deck is far easier. Behind the counter there is chilled rear storage with solid hinged doors: one on the 1,330 mm model, two on the 1,955 mm and three on the 2,580 mm, so staff keep backup trays within reach. Those doors need clearance. The spec sheets list a door swing of 612 mm on the curved models and 625 mm on the square ones, and about 1.7 m of total depth with a door open, so plan the staff aisle with that in mind.

Four accessories are made for the deli range: a 350 mm cutting board, a knife holder, a bag holder and a scale deck for your weighing scales. Sam can fit them on installation day.

The countertop display fridge

The CT0100G4BC-NR is a small curved glass fridge that sits on a counter beside the register. It holds 98 L in a footprint of 425 mm by 404 mm, stands 1,080 mm tall, runs from +2 to +8 degrees C and carries an 8 star GEMS rating at 3.262 kWh a day. Unlike the deli counters it is rated for a 32 degrees C room (climate class 4H1), so it copes better with a warm front counter. It has a lockable door and an illuminated header. Drinks are fine anywhere in its range, but for dairy or prepared food set it at 5 degrees C or below to meet the FSANZ rule for chilled food.

Before you order

All six deli counters are rated for a 25 degrees C room (climate class 3M1), so they belong in an air conditioned shop. Keep them away from ovens, coffee machines and street doors. They weigh 237 kg to 381 kg, so check the route in and the floor they will stand on. Each runs on single phase power through a standard 10 A plug on a 2 m cord, so the outlet has to be close by. Listed daily energy use is 6.1, 8.5 and 11.6 kWh for the three lengths.

Installed and looked after by Sam

Sam quotes the counter with delivery and installation in Perth, wheels it into place, levels it so the glass closes properly, fits any accessories and runs it down to temperature before he leaves. Ask him about taking away the old counter when you get a quote. Units can also be sent by courier. After installation Sam services and repairs the range: see commercial fridge repairs if a counter stops holding temperature, or refrigeration maintenance for regular coil cleaning and checks. The Bromic refrigeration page covers everything else Bromic makes.

Frequently asked questions

Curved or square glass: which should I choose?

It is mostly a matter of looks. Bromic makes each of the three lengths in both shapes with the same capacity, temperature range and rear storage. Curved glass suits a traditional deli or cafe, while square glass suits a modern, angular fit-out. Look at the rest of your shopfront and counters and choose the shape that matches them.

Can I keep meat and salads in the same deli counter?

Yes, provided everything stays at 5 degrees C or below, which is the FSANZ limit for chilled food. Keep raw and ready-to-eat food apart in separate trays with their own utensils. If you want different settings for different products, two shorter counters with their own controllers give you more control than one long counter.

What is the countertop fridge best used for?

The 98 L countertop fridge suits drinks, yoghurts, sandwiches and small items sold at the register. It is rated for a 32 degrees C room, has a lockable door and an 8 star energy rating. Its range runs from 2 to 8 degrees C, so for anything perishable set it at 5 degrees C or below and check it with a thermometer.

How much space do I need behind a deli counter?

Allow for the rear storage doors. The spec sheets give a door swing of 612 mm on the curved models and 625 mm on the square ones, and a total depth of about 1.7 m with a door open. Staff also need to pass each other while serving, so a wider aisle is better. Sam can check the layout before you order.

Do you supply the deli accessories?

Yes. The cutting board, knife holder, bag holder and scale deck made for Bromic deli displays can be quoted with the counter and fitted when it is installed. Ask Sam for a price on the set you need, and tell him which scales you use so he can confirm the scale deck suits them.

Who repairs the deli counter if it fails?

Sam services and repairs Bromic deli displays in Perth, including units bought elsewhere. Same-day callouts are available 7 days a week, at $75 + GST to call out plus $180 an hour + GST and parts, and you get a fixed quote before repair work goes ahead. A dirty condenser is a common reason a deli counter starts running warm.
